Description: Join a small group conversation about the use of minimally invasive care (MIC). We will cover who can use MIC, including dentists, dental hygienists, dental therapists, primary care providers, nurses, and others, to move oral health to a space that is more patient-centered and more equitable. The goal of MIC is to focus on what is best for the individual being treated by emphasizing early detection and prevention of oral disease. This less invasive approach uses fluorides, antimicrobials, and dental sealants that address early-stage tooth decay in a conservative way across the lifespan. Patients benefit from preserving their teeth and from proactive prevention. Increasing awareness of MIC and advocating for its greater use requires a collaborative effort from various partners, agencies, oral health coalitions, health care professionals, educators, policymakers, payers and community members. Has your program implemented MIC techniques? Are you familiar with MIC? Have you personally used MIC? What is your role in advocating for MIC? Are you looking for more information about MIC? Come join the conversation to learn more about MIC and how you can help to move this forward. Collaboration enables sharing resources, knowledge, and best practices, making the promotion and adoption of MIC more effective and far reaching. Come ready to commit to the journey as a provider and/or an advocate!
