Lauren Gritzer, DDS, MPH, is a Dental Public Resident at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She earned her BS from the George Washington University, and MPH and DDS degrees from the University of Maryland. Her career encompasses research at Johns Hopkins, UCSF, and University of Maryland Schools of Medicine. She has extensive experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating community-based programs, including school-based sealant and career development initiatives. Additionally, she served as the Maryland Site Manager for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ Transforming Clinical Practices Initiative, which prepared ambulatory medical providers for value-based care models.
Dr. Gritzer currently serves on the American Dental Education Association’s Legislative Advisory Committee and as the Oral Health Advocacy Officer on Planet Smilez’s Board.
Previously, she held positions on the Maryland State Dental Association’s Leadership and Legislative Affairs Committees, where her contributions earned her accolades. She is interested in data science, interoperability, and alternative payment models. She recently authored a paper on the contemporary job market demands of the dental public health profession. In her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with her geriatric puggle, Kooky.
