Session Description: Attendees will explore the unique challenges individuals with neurodivergent conditions face, such as sensory sensitivities, communication barriers, and disruptions to routines. The session will provide actionable strategies for accommodating these needs, including the use of visual schedules, sensory-friendly tools, and effective communication techniques. Participants will also gain insights into creating a neurodivergent-friendly environment and understanding the legal and ethical considerations involved in providing accommodations. By the end of the session, professionals will be better equipped to provide inclusive and supportive environments. This presentation is part of the work being done by the AAPHD EDI committee.
