Description: The public assumes that dental practice is safe, which is generally true; but it is painfully obvious that many private dental practitioners make the assumption that "we are safe enough," while delegating infection prevention and control to ancillary dental staff. Bad things do occasionally happen in dental practice and 93% of practitioners are unprepared for that reality. What can be done at the state level to address this situation as a win/win for all? What can the state oral health program, oral health coalition and the state dental association do collectively to raise awareness and promote the safest dental visit?
